Group size consists of a maximum of 28 people.

Luggage: Each traveller is permitted two pieces of luggage: one suitcase weighing no more than 20kg and one item of hand luggage weighing up to 5kg. Please ensure that your luggage is lockable.

Fitness level: This tour requires you to comfortably stay on your feet with occasional breaks. You should be able to easily board and disembark from various modes of transport, such as coaches, trains, and boats. Expect to walk around notable sites and climb steps to enjoy stunning views. Sightseeing may involve walking for extended periods, occasionally on steps or uneven surfaces.

Accommodation: Hotels are selected for their location, comfort, or unique character. Accommodation is generally of a four-star standard in major cities, though facilities may vary from UK expectations, especially in more remote areas where Western-style amenities may be limited. All group tour hotels offer private Western-style bathrooms. Please note that occasional inconsistencies in plumbing or electricity are possible. *Regional regulations may limit air conditioning or heating use at certain times of the year.

Public Holidays: If you are travelling during a Chinese public holiday, be aware that while tourist sites remain open, they can be particularly busy with local visitors. Celebrations often last several days, during which some shops and restaurants may close, and transport services—such as coaches, flights, and trains—may be affected. The main Golden Week holidays take place each year from 29 April to 3 May and from 30 September to 7 October.

Tipping: Tipping is a common practice in China, though it can sometimes be confusing to know who to tip and how much. To make things easier for our travellers, there is a straightforward tipping policy in place. At the start of your journey, you’ll give a set amount to your national escort, who will manage and distribute tips fairly among key service providers throughout your tour – including local guides and drivers. This system ensures a hassle-free experience for you, while also offering fair recognition to those supporting your trip. The amount has been carefully calculated to balance fairness to local staff with ease for our guests, and it also includes a gratuity for your national escort.
Tipping for minor services, such as hotel porters or restroom attendants, remains entirely optional and should be based on your personal satisfaction.
