Things To Do and Excursions

Shanghai is a shopper’s dream. The Nanjing Road is especially famous as a spot for high-end purchases although it becomes claustrophobically crowded during weekends and public holidays. There are also many western-style malls with famous brands and impressive Chinese boutiques selling unusual wares.

French Concession

The section of the city that was formerly a French concession still retains much of the architectural style from before control was returned to the Chinese. It’s quite surreal to find yourself suddenly walking through what could easily be an old French town in the middle of China.

The Bund

The Bund is Shanghai’s waterfront promenade which is often very popular with the tourists and serves as a great place to go people-watching. It’s close to some lovely bars and restaurants so you’ll be able to relax if the crowds get manic.
