Welcome to Tokyo, Japan’s vibrant capital and one of the world’s largest and most exciting cities. Upon arrival you’ll be met at the airport for a transfer into the city centre, allowing you to check in to your hotel with time to relax or explore as you wish.

Day 2
Tokyo
Today, enjoy a private half-day guided tour to introduce you to Tokyo’s diverse mix of tradition and modernity. You’ll visit the sacred Meiji Shrine, set within a forested oasis in Shibuya, followed by a stroll along Takeshita Street in Harajuku, a colourful hub of youth fashion. At Tsukiji Outer Market, sample fresh seafood and snacks before heading to Tokyo Tower for fantastic views of the city skyline.
The final port of call on this tour is Asakusa, one of Tokyo’s oldest neighbourhoods, home to the iconic Senso-ji Temple. Browse traditional souvenirs along Nakamise-dori, the temple's shopping street, and soak in the nostalgic atmosphere.
This afternoon, continue exploring at your own pace—perhaps visit Ueno Park and its museums, or head to Akihabara for electronics and anime culture.

Tokyo
Today, escape the city on a full-day private tour to the breathtaking landscapes surrounding Mount Fuji and Hakone. Upon arrival, you’ll feel as though you've stepped back in time. Takayama is known for its historic Edo-period streets, sake breweries, and traditional wooden houses.
In the afternoon, Takayama at your leisure. Perhaps explore the charming Sanmachi Suji district, where you’ll find merchant houses, local shops, and craft stores. Visit the Miyagawa Morning Market if time allows, and try some local delicacies such as Hida beef skewers or Mitarashi dango (sweet soy-glazed rice dumplings). The town's relaxed pace is a perfect change from Tokyo's bustling streets.

Takayama
This morning enjoy a local food tour, sampling Takayama’s traditional cuisine and local specialities.
The afternoon is yours to continue explore at your leisure. Kanazawa
Depart Takayama this morning and travel by train to the elegant city of Kanazawa, located on the Sea of Japan. Upon arrival, check in and head to Kenrokuen Garden, a meticulously landscaped masterpiece that changes character with each season.
Adjacent to the garden is Kanazawa Castle, which offers lovely walking paths and panoramic views. For a dose of modern culture, visit the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, known for its interactive installations. Kanazawa

Hiroshima
Today you’ll journey by train to Hiroshima, a city that has transformed itself from tragedy into a symbol of peace and resilience. After checking in, take some time to explore nearby sights such as the beautifully restored Hiroshima Castle or the tranquil Shukkeien Garden, a historical Japanese landscape garden perfect for a peaceful afternoon walk.
In the evening, you might want to sample okonomiyaki, a savoury pancake-like dish that is a Hiroshima specialty. Head to Okonomimura, a multi-storey complex dedicated entirely to okonomiyaki restaurants, for an authentic and delicious dinner experience.

Hiroshima and Miyajima Island

Kyoto
This morning, take the train to Kyoto, Japan’s cultural capital. The city is famed for its exquisite temples, wooden townhouses, and serene gardens. Once you arrive, check in and begin exploring the historic Gion district, known for its geisha culture and traditional wooden architecture.
In the evening, we suggest a walk along Pontocho Alley, one of Kyoto’s most atmospheric dining streets, or visit the Yasaka Shrine, beautifully lit after dark. Kyoto’s rich history and charm are immediately apparent, and there is much to look forward to in the coming days.

Kyoto
Today, enjoy a convenient and immersive bus tour of Kyoto’s top sights (On-board audio guide in English included). Visit Tenryu-ji Temple, a Zen masterpiece in Arashiyama, followed by a stroll through the magical Bamboo Grove. Continue to the shimmering Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion), one of Japan’s most photographed temples.

Today is free for you to explore the city as you wish. We’d recommend taking a 45-minute train journey to Nara, a small town that’s home to Nara Park – famous for its tame deer - as well as Todaiji Temple, which is home to Japan’s largest Buddha.

Day 13
Osaka
The final stop of your adventure is Osaka – every foodie’s idea of heaven. The day is free for you to explore Japan’s culinary capital at your own pace. We recommend exploring Dotonbori, a vibrant street renowned for its bright neon lights and incredible food stalls that offer local Osakan delights including fugu (poisonous puffer fish). There’s even an optional food tour that sees you trying menchi katsu (a local favourite of breaded, deep-fried patty of ground meat), sake and Japanese wine, and a restaurant that specialises in wagyu beef.

Osaka
Today marks the end of your tour with a transfer to Osaka airport for your flight home.
