Flights and transfers
You’ll need to fly to the main Kuala Lumpur airport and then take a domestic flight to Kota Kinabalu International Airport.
British passport holders do not require a visa – check the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) guidelines for any changes.
Malay is the official language, although some will speak a reasonable level of English.
Buses can take you long distances in relative comfort. There’s also a railway in the north.
The ringgit is the official currency.
