Day 1
Arrive into Nairobi, where you'll be met and transferred to your accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, you may wish to head out and enjoy dinner at one of the nearby restaurants before settling in for your first night.
Your safari begins in style with a stay in an authentic safari tent, complete with all the modern comforts you'd expect. It's the perfect introduction to your Kenyan adventure.
Accommodation: Nairobi Tented Camp (1 night)
Day 2
This morning, your journey continues with a flight from Nairobi Wilson Airport to Meru National Park. On arrival, you'll be met and transferred to your camp in time for lunch before enjoying some relaxation ahead of your first afternoon game drive, complete with a classic African sundowner.
With a little luck, you may spot your first rhino, along with a wonderful variety of other wildlife. Afterwards, return to camp for a refreshing dip in the pool before dinner and an overnight stay.
Rhino River Camp is one of Kenya's best-kept secrets, tucked away in the spectacular Meru National Park. With very few visitors, this remarkable destination offers an exclusive safari experience where it's entirely possible not to see another vehicle during your game drives. The spacious tents are thoughtfully positioned well apart from one another, creating a wonderful sense of privacy, while the swimming pool is an added luxury after a day exploring the bush.
Accommodation: Rhino River Camp (3 nights)
Day 3-4
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives as you venture deeper into Meru National Park and discover its diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife. All meals are included at your camp, leaving you free to simply relax and soak up the peaceful surroundings between safari experiences.
With so few vehicles in the park, every game drive feels wonderfully exclusive, making this hidden gem one of Kenya's most rewarding safari destinations.
Day 5
After breakfast, transfer to the local airstrip for your short flight to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, where your guide will be waiting to welcome you. Even landing here is a wildlife experience in itself.
Following lunch, head out on an afternoon game drive in search of the conservancy's famous rhino population. Ol Pejeta is home to an impressive number of these magnificent animals, alongside an abundance of other iconic African wildlife, so keep your eyes peeled throughout the afternoon.
We love Porini Rhino Camp, beautifully positioned beside a large waterhole with its own wildlife viewing hide. You may find yourself watching a steady stream of animals without even needing to leave camp. The excellent food, warm hospitality and inviting sundowner firepit overlooking the waterhole make this a truly memorable place to stay.
Accommodation: Porini Rhino Camp (2 nights)
Day 6
Today, enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in Ol Pejeta Conservancy. If you'd like to experience the bush after dark, there's also the option to join a night drive. Alternatively, spend part of the day relaxing back at camp and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
Day 7
After breakfast, it's time to fly to your final safari destination – the world-famous Masai Mara. Stretching across vast golden plains as far as the eye can see, this iconic reserve is one of Africa's finest wildlife destinations. Here you'll have excellent opportunities to spot lions, cheetahs and leopards, along with many of the other incredible animals you've been hoping to see.
Porini Lion Camp offers an authentic safari experience that's hard to beat. Small, intimate and full of character, it's a truly magical place to stay. During your time here, you may also wish to experience an optional guided walking safari for a completely different perspective on the African bush.
Accommodation: Porini Lion Camp (3 nights)
Day 8
Spend another unforgettable day exploring the Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives, or choose a full-day safari with a picnic lunch to maximise your time in this incredible wildlife haven.
Day 9
Today is your final day of game viewing, so make every moment count. Will today be the day you spot that elusive leopard or cheetah? Whatever wildlife you encounter, it's the perfect way to round off an unforgettable safari.
Day 10
After breakfast, it's time to say goodbye to your once-in-a-lifetime safari as you fly back to Nairobi Wilson Airport.
On arrival back in Nairobi, you're perfectly placed to continue your adventure. Why not unwind on Kenya's beautiful coastline, or perhaps venture further afield to the idyllic beaches of the Indian Ocean? Alternatively, extend your East African journey with an unforgettable gorilla trekking experience in Uganda or Rwanda. Your Tropical Sky travel expert will be delighted to help you create the perfect extension.
If you're heading to the Kenya coast, there are also convenient options to fly directly there rather than returning via Nairobi.
If you're travelling home, don't leave it too long before turning those incredible safari memories into a photo book.
