Overview

Combine the excitement of a classic Tanzania safari with a relaxing beach stay on the exotic island of Zanzibar. This wonderful multi-centre holiday takes you deep into the northern reaches of Tanzania, visiting some of Africa's most famous wildlife areas before heading to the white sandy shores of Zanzibar.

This itinerary combines our popular Tanzania Simba 4x4 Safari and the wonderful 4 star Diamonds Mapenzi Beach on the exotic island of Zanzibar.

Your seven-night safari starts on a Saturday and takes you from Arusha through Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara and the magnificent Serengeti, before spending two nights exploring the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. With game drives in a purpose-built 4x4 safari vehicle and an English-speaking driver/guide, you'll have plenty of opportunities to discover Tanzania's incredible wildlife. 

After your safari adventure, fly onwards to Zanzibar for five nights at the beautiful Diamonds Mapenzi Beach. Set amongst tropical gardens on the peaceful Kiwengwa Beach, this all-inclusive resort is the perfect place to unwind, with a beachfront location, swimming pool, watersports and a choice of dining options.

This is a fantastic combination of adventure and relaxation, giving you the chance to experience the very best of Tanzania before enjoying some well-deserved time on the beach.

Important Luggage Restriction: Soft Sided Bags only max weight 15kg.  Larger bags for your onward journey to Zanzibar can be stored in Arusha for a small fee.

Days 1 - 8

Your Tanzania Simba 4x4 Safari starts in Arusha and takes you on a seven-night adventure through some of the most famous wildlife areas in northern Tanzania.

Explore Tarangire National Park, with its impressive elephant herds and excellent game viewing, before continuing to Lake Manyara and the vast Serengeti National Park. Your safari then continues to the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater where you will spend time exploring the crater floor, home to an incredible diversity of wildlife.

Your final safari day will take you back to Arusha for your onwards flight to Zanzibar.

Days 8 - 13

After your safari, fly onwards to Zanzibar where you will have five nights to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Diamonds Mapenzi Beach.

Set along the white sands of Kiwengwa Beach, this 4 star All Inclusive resort offers a peaceful tropical setting, swimming pool, watersports and a choice of restaurants and bars.

Day 13

It is time to head home. You will be transferred to Zanzibar Airport for your connecting flight home.

Any of our Tanzania Safaris can be tailored for your safari stay and any of our Zanzibar hotels can be used for any length of stay. The above itinerary is simply a sample of one of the wonderful trips we can put together.

Tanzania Tourism Development Levy
Please note there is a Tourism Development Levy (TDL) payable directly to your hotel or camp throughout mainland Tanzania of USD1.50 per person per night

Zanzibar Infrastructure Tax
All guests travelling to Zanzibar will be charged an “infrastructure tax” imposed by the Zanzibar Revenue Board (ZRB). The charge for guests will be USD 5 per person per day and will be shown and charged directly on the hotel bill. The tax is applicable to all adults and children and is subject to change without notice.

Inbound Travel Insurance
All travellers to Zanzibar will be required to purchase their inbound travel insurance at a cost of USD 44.00 per adult and USD 22 per child aged 3-17 yrs. Children aged 0-2 years are free. Coverage is valid for 92 days and only valid during the time in Zanzibar. However, it does remain valid for multiple stays in Zanzibar during the 92 day period. Please note that cost is subject to change without prior notification.
