Cape Kudu Hotel runs a number of projects that give back to the island of Koh Yao Noi and its’ residents.

  • Medical Support – Partnering with the island’s Long-tail Boat Association, a portion of the proceeds from providing long-tail boat tours has been donated to those on Koh Yao Noi who face expenses travelling to Phuket for crucial treatments.
  • Local Support – Much of the produce used in the hotel’s kitchen is purchased from local farmers and fishermen, allowing the hotel both assurance that the producers are rewarded appropriately for their time and skills, and access to a source of high-quality, fresh food.
  • Animal Rescue – Cape Kudu Hotel purchased an ox who was destined for slaughter. ‘Coconut’ is now the hotel’s lucky mascot, and the hotel provides all feeding expenses and local villagers help in his care.
  • Home for Hornbills – The hotel encourages guests to observe the island’s native hornbill population without disturbing them, and has also introduced a programme of constructing nesting boxes that are specifically designed for these magnificent birds.
  • Local Schools Initiative – In this programme, local school children are encouraged to create sculptures using natural materials and items such as plastic bottles found on the beach. Their artwork is then judged by guests, and the winners receive a scholarship towards their education.
