Overview

The luxurious and chic InterContinental is set on the longest private beach in Doha – an urban oasis in a prime location for water sports, swimming or simply lounging in the sunshine. With a selection of decadent rooms and suites, each with a twist on traditional Arabic decor, there’s plenty of scope to find a room to suit your needs. Food lovers can indulge in any one of the six restaurants on offer here, serving up delectable cuisine in the form of fresh seafood dishes, Greek fare and tastes of Mexico.

We love that younger guests aren’t forgotten here, with an indoor activity room, outdoor playground and separate pool for them to enjoy. For the adults, there’s the indulgent spa menu or live entertainment to ensure there isn’t a dull moment during your stay. Active guests can keep fit with the health center, sports courts and water sports available – you can relax in the sauna afterwards.

Top tip: The Lava Lounge is a chic way to end the day with a fantastic food menu – head out to the terrace to take in some phenomenal views of the Doha skyline.

Ramadan

The holy month of Ramadan will be celebrated in Qatar every year according to the lunar cycle (approximately 28 February–30 March 2025). During Ramadan, Muslims all over the world abstain from food, drink and other physical needs during daylight hours. As a result, there are many restrictions in place during this time. Hotel restaurants and local city restaurants are closed until Iftar (the fast-breaking evening meal after sunset), though some hotels let one restaurant open for buffet breakfast and lunch. Alcohol is restricted in public, but can be delivered to the room. Non-Muslims are not expected to fast but be aware that in Qatar you cannot eat, drink, smoke, or chew gum in public.

Eid Al Fitr, otherwise known as the Festival of Sweets, is an annual Muslim holiday that celebrates the ‘breaking of the fast’ (approximately 31 March-1 April 2025 and ). Eid Al Adha is the second major holiday celebrated annually in the UAE (approximately 16 June-20 June 2024 and 6 June-10 June 2025). During these festivities, the UAE can be very busy, however, there are no restrictions during these times.
